    Q:
How to replace the negative battery cable on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
The negative Battery Cable replacement process begins by disconnecting the negative terminal and continues with air intake duct and resonator removal. First cut the tape between the retainer holding the two cables at the battery tray and near the transmission electrical plug. Progress by removing the wire harness retainer nut which sits at the engine's rear and move the wire retainer out of the way. Begin by removing the bolt which anchors the cable to both the battery tray and the negative Battery Cable ground stud installed on the engine block then proceed with removing the negative Battery Cable. Put the new cable into position before inserting the ground stud through the negative cable into the engine block then tighten the negative Battery Cable ground stud to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). First secure the engine wire harness retainer firmly around the stud then install the wire harness retainer onto the ground connection before tightening the wire harness retainer nut to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Begin by installing the bolt that secures the negative Battery Cable to the battery tray. After that, tape both cables to the battery tray and transmission electrical plug. Once done, install the air cleaner resonator and outlet duct and complete by reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
