How to replace the EGR valve on 2002 Chevrolet Impala?

The repairing process for an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve starts with turning off ignition while you disconnect its electrical connector. Start by removing the bolt which retains the pipe assembly to the EGR Valve then slowly draw the pipe assembly backward. The EGR Valve assembly requires removal after you uninstall the retaining bolts together with the attached gasket. When installing the new gasket users must place it onto the Intake Manifold before applying the EGR Valve while following all statements in fastener notice in service precautions. Pass the bolts through the EGR Valve to the Intake Manifold before tightening them to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Fasten the Exhaust Pipe assembly to the EGR Valve before installing its bolt which requires 25 n.m (18 lb ft) torque. The last step requires connecting the electrical connector to the EGR Valve.
