How to replace the Brake Light Switch on 2002 Chevrolet Prizm?

Start the replacement by disconnecting the Battery Cable and taking out the knee bolster. First disconnect the plastic retainer from the i/p carrier then take out the left side air ventilation duct, screw, and left side air outlet duct. First unplug the stoplamp electrical cable and loose one nut to remove the switch . Position the stoplamp switch onto the brake pedal bracket and fasten it with one locknut but do not tighten yet. Adjust the stoplamp position to meet specifications and fasten the locknut by turning it 10 nm. Thread the stoplamp switch's electrical connection and connect the left side air outlet duct to the i/p while fastening it with the screw. Then attach and secure the plastic retainer to the left side air ventilation duct. Put the knee bolster back in position and connect the negative battery wire.
