2002 Chevrolet Tracker Brake Disc Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace the Brake Disc on 2002 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: Before replacing the Brake Disc you must draw two-thirds of brake fluid from the master cylinder with a siphon system. Lift the car and take off the tire wheel unit before starting work. Mount the c-clamp across the caliper and outer pad then tighten it until the piston hits the base of its chamber. Unfasten the 2 mounting bolt persistently separate the caliper and caliper bracket from their position and lift them away alongside the brake pads off the disc while stopping the flexible brake hoses from supporting the brake components. Drill a wire through the caliper and caliper bracket to keep this equipment stable and free from hose damage. Secure an 8 mm bolt into each disc side to separate it from the Wheel Hub when a direct removal is not possible. Place the Brake Disc over the hub and position both the caliper and caliper bracket. Tighten down the two caliper bracket bolts to 85 nm (61.5 ft. Lbs.). Reattach the new tire and wheel hardware below the vehicle while also monitoring the master cylinder reservoir. Operate the engine then firmly push the Brake Pedal a few times to set the piston position.
