How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2002 GMC Savana 3500?

Before you can replace the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, first disconnect the negative Battery Cable and raise the vehicle. Disconnect the ckp sensor harness connector, and afterwards, take out the sensor hold down bolt and the sensor from the Timing Cover. It is important to make sure the mounting surfaces are neat and do not have any burrs when installing the new ckp sensor. Apply a little clean engine oil to the o-ring and push the sensor into the Timing Cover, making it stay still before tightening the hold down bolt to 8 n.m (71 lb in). Once the sensor is in place, connect the ckp sensor harness, lower the vehicle down, and connect the negative Battery Cable. In the end, do the ckp system variation learning.
