How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2001 GMC Savana 3500?

In order to replace the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, first, unplug the negative batter cable, and lift the vehicle. Disconnect the ckk sensor harness, and thereafter remove the bolt of the sensor hold down along with the sensor from the Timing Cover. Before mounting the new ckp sensor, make sure the mounting surfaces are free from burrs and dirt. Lubricate the o-ring with clean engine oil and slide the sensor into the Timing Cover ensuring that it gets seated and held in place for tightening the hold down bolt to 8 n.m (71 lb in). Once the sensor is locked, reconnect the ckp sensor harness connector, lower the vehicle, and reconnect the negative Battery Cable. Finally, run the ckp system variation learning procedure for finalizing the installation.
