Service and repair of the Crankshaft Position Sensor begins when install a scan tool and engage parking brake and block driven wheels. The service requires operators to shut the hood then shift their vehicle into park (A/T) or neutral (M/T). Keep the engine running until the coolant hits 65°c (150°F) and disconnect every accessory from operation. Inspect dtc p1336 crankshaft position (CKP) system variation not learned upon unsuccessful completion of the ckp system variation learn procedure. Use the scan tool to enable the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure but ensure the vcm detects brake switch state changes as release to applied to execute the learn process while maintaining continuous brake pressure application. After the engine begins to slow down in the learn procedure you should immediately release throttle control for engine control to return to the operator for a smooth engine speed increase up to 4000 rpm followed by an immediate throttle release when the speed declines. After successfully executing the learn procedure users must wait for fifteen seconds while the ignition remains off.
