How to replace the Lash Adjusters on 2002 GMC Savana 3500?

Before replacing valve lifters begin by removing the Intake Manifold and valve push rods then install the lifters along with their guides to their factory settings. Working sequentially removes the valve lifter guide retainer and valve lifter guides from the engine block before one-by-one extracting the valve lifters. A stuck valve lifter can be extracted with the valve lifter remover tool (J 3049-A). Engine oil supplement gm p/n 1051396 or an equivalent must be added to the engine oil during installation alongside changing the engine oil and Oil Filter whenever new valve lifters or a new Camshaft are installed. Engineers must replace all valve lifters before installing new camshafts. They must follow this with individual valve lifter installation and valve push rod and Intake Manifold placement.
