How to replace the water pump on 2003 Buick Century?

Start pump replacement by draining the cooling system before you remove the belt shield bolt and shield. Unfasten the three Water Pump Pulley bolts and pull off the Drive Belt. After loosening the bolts you can take out the Water Pump Pulley and pull the Water Pump itself from its position. Unbolt the Water Pump from its location together with its bolts and the Water Pump Gasket itself. Prepare the Water Pump connection areas by cleaning them thoroughly before you put on the gasket and new Water Pump. Fasten the Water Pump bolts to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.), and put on the Water Pump Pulley along with its bolts which should be tightened to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Put back the Drive Belt first and then the Drive Belt shield along with its bolt that needs to be tightened to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Finally, fill the cooling system.
