Buick Century Water Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the water pump on Buick Century?
A: You need to empty the cooling system before using a socket wrench to remove both the shield bolt and shield of the Drive Belt. Unfasten the Water Pump Pulley bolts first while the Water Pump Pulley remains at rest. Remove the Drive Belt after loosening the Water Pump Pulley bolts. Finally, take out all bolts and the pump pulley itself. You should first take off the Water Pump bolts then the Water Pump itself. Afterwards extract the Water Pump Gasket. Prepare both Water Pump attachment areas with cleaning before you set the new gasket and install the Water Pump. Place Water Pump bolts into their holes and tighten them to 10 nm force before assembling the Water Pump Pulley. Twist the pulley bolts to 25 nm force during installation. Fit the Drive Belt back on and put the Drive Belt shield followed by its bolt into place while tightening the bolt to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Finally, fill the cooling system.
