2003 Buick LeSabre Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel rail on 2003 Buick LeSabre?
A: A Fuel Rail service or repair procedure must start with fuel pressure relief followed by proper cleaning measures during the entire process. The Fuel Injector remover (J 43013) allows safe elevation of the injectors after you disconnect the fuel feed and return pipes from the Fuel Rail tubes and the vacuum line from the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Disconnect the ignition wires then remove Ignition Coil wires before removing the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors. Use an equal amount of force when removing the Fuel Rail by unfastening the mounting bolts then pulling it out in both directions. Replace all o-rings on serviced components after their installation then lightly apply motor oil to them before carefully setting the Fuel Rail assembly onto the Intake Manifold through hand-fitting of fuel injectors. Fitting the Fuel Rail hold-down bolts requires torquing them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Continue by reattaching the Fuel Injector electrical connectors then the fuel feed and return pipes along with the vacuum line to the Fuel Pressure Regulator before connecting the Ignition Coil wires. After tightening the fuel fill cap reconnect the negative Battery Cable apply the specified procedure to check for leaks before finishing the operation. The installation process of the fuel injection sight shield concludes the procedure.
