A utility stand helps stabilize the Control Arm while positioned ahead of the coil spring before removing the bolts which connect it to the rear axle. Position a utility stand beneath the rear axle to lower it before reaching the Control Arm Bushing for lower Control Arm Bushing replacement. Also keep track of the original bushing orientation in the lower Control Arm. Employing the j 28685 rear suspension bushing remover/installer (J 28685) together with the j 9519-e ball joint remover/installer kit (J 9519-E) remove and install the Control Arm Bushing. Install the flat side of the new bushing at a 45-degree angle to the Control Arm marking before inserting it using the j 28685 and j 9519-e tools to achieve a 9.8 mm (0.39 inch) extension beyond the Control Arm. Technical success is achieved by positioning the bushing end at the indicator line on the j 28685. After elevating the rear axle using a stand position the Control Arm bolt securely to the axle followed by stand removal then lower the vehicle.
