The repair procedure for replacing the suction hose (Rhd With RPO Code LA3, LY9) starts with refrigerant recovery followed by battery removal. The a/c quick joint tool (J 45689) enables suction hose disconnect from the Evaporator by inserting its probe into both small openings of the plastic quick joint while maintaining tool body parallel to the a/c line orientation. First disconnect the suction hose by removing its retaining screw while separating it from the clamp before taking out the air cleaner assembly. Start the installation by removing the compressor retaining bolt followed by taking out the suction hose from the car. Place refrigerant oil on the new o-rings before installing the suction hose onto the Evaporator. After placing the clamp around the suction hose position the tool and activate it until it forms a secure click. Use gentle suction line tension to verify the clamp engagement before you place the suction hose inside the bracket and screw it home to 1 n.m (9 lb in). Attach the suction hose to the compressor before installing the retaining bolt which you must tighten to 9.8 n.m (87 lb in). Reinstall the air cleaner assembly also replace the battery while performing the evacuation of the refrigerant system and recharging the system and conducting a halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) test on all fittings.
