• Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2003 Cadillac CTS?

  A: Start by removing the intake plenum then relieve fuel system pressure before commencing replacement of the Intake Manifold. You need to disconnect the quick connect fittings which control fuel between the return hose-pipe and the feed hose-pipe and you should plug the exposed outlets to stop fuel spillage and pollution. The next step is to disassemble the vehicle by disconnecting the fuel injector electrical harness connector from its position on the Engine Wiring Harness Connector and removing the Fuel Pressure Regulator vent tube from the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Begin by removing the Fuel Rail and continuing with Intake Manifold bolts and finally removing the Intake Manifold from the Intake Manifold flange before extracting its seals. The Intake Manifold flange should receive masking over its open outlets to secure foreign material entry beyond the engine components. Perform breakdown then cleaning and visual inspection of the Intake Manifold when necessary. Begin by installing the Intake Manifold if required before taking off the masking from the Intake Manifold flange to finish by inspecting that sealing surfaces are both clean and dry. Screw the seals into flange grooves of the Intake Manifold followed by placing the Intake Manifold onto the Intake Manifold flange. Screw in all Intake Manifold bolts while tightening them to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). If the Fuel Rail was removed connect the Fuel Rail before you reconnect the Fuel Pressure Regulator vent tube to the Fuel Pressure Regulator and the fuel injector electrical harness connector to the Engine Wiring Harness Connector. To complete the Fuel Rail setup add the feed hose/pipe and return hose/pipe to their designated quick connect fittings followed by installation of the intake plenum.
