• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2003 Cadillac CTS?

  A: To change throttle assembly, partially drain the system. Remove the hose from the air intake duct connected to the throttle body, unhook the hose from the surge tank inlet, throttle body heater hose, and fuel pressure regulator atmospheric vent tube. Next, unplug the throttle body electrical connector from the throttle body and remove the throttle body assembly mounting bolts. Cautiously pull off the throttle body assembly from the intake plenum and vacuum fittings and dispose of throttle body O- ring seals and vacuum fitting O-ring seals. Installing, install throttle body O-ring seals in grooves of throttle body and lubricate vacuum fitting O-rings with clean engine oil before mounting the O-rings to vacuum fittings. At the same time, mount the throttle body assembly onto the intake plenum, along with vacuum fittings, afterwards, fasten the throttle body assembly mounting bolts with as much as 8 N.m (71 lb in). Connect the throttle body electrical connector back to the throttle body, surge tank inlet hose, throttle body heater hose, and fuel pressure regulator atmospheric vent tube. Finally, attach the air intake duct hoses to the throttle body, do the idle learn step and top off the cooling system.
