How to replace the rear brake disc on 2003 Chevrolet Corvette?

To remove the rear brake rotor, lift the vehicle and free the park brake and stabilize it. Take off the tire and wheel assembly and disconnect the park brake cable from the apply lever. Use a c-clamp (not specified) to apply pressure on the Brake Caliper Piston to enable the caliper to be moved away from the rotor. Support the brake caliper with very heavy mechanic's twist wire to try to prevent damage to the hydraulic flex hose. Pull off the caliper bracket bolts by not disconnecting the brake flexible hose, then remove the brake caliper and bracket assembly while there is no pull effect on the hose. Mark the position of the brake rotor to the wheel studs before you pull it off smoothly. For installation, clean up any rust or contaminants from the hub/axle flange using the wheel hub resurfacing kit (J 42450-A) and off the brake rotor, the rotorresurfacing kit (J 41013). Assess mating surfaces for dirt, reconnect park brake cable, and trim park brake shoes clearance. Put the brake rotor on and make sure it matches the matchmark arranging it laterally, measure the assembled lateral runout (LRO) for excellent performance. In case necessity arises, alter the lro to specification and reinstall the brake caliper and bracket assembly as well as the tire and wheel assembly. Finally reduce (lower) the vehicle and polish the pads and rotors if the rotor was refinished or replaced.
