Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2003 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Firstly, drain the cooling system to overhaul the Intake Manifold. If the Intake Manifold is to be replaced, remove Throttle Body and fuel injectors. Next, you need to remove the right and left fuel rail covers; remove the fuel feed hose; and disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge operator off the Intake Manifold, as well as the evap canister purge solenoid valve. Pull off the Throttle Body heater outlet hose by disconnecting its electrical connector, removing the coolant air bleed hose and repositioning the Throttle Body heater outlet hose clamp. Remove all evap canister purge solenoid valve electrical connectors, as well as electronic throttle control (ETC) connectors.threadpoolworker-41-surajabole september18ay8us338339568-6233873863424192489 pull the evap canister purge solenoid valve out of its bracket, unhook the harness clips from the fuel rails, and reposition the Intake Manifold branches of the harness. People need to use multimeters to perform electronic and visual testing for engine electronic diagnosis. The figure is 5-18. Take out the pcv tube from the right rocker arm cover and Throttle Body and also, if you have the regular production option (RPO) engine ls1 take out the pcv valve pipe from the left rocker arm cover and the strap. Unplug the pcv valve pipe from the right rocker arm cover and Intake Manifold, and if the rpo ls6 engine is equipped remove the PCV Valve Hose from the valley cover and Intake Manifold. Removethe Intake Manifold bolts and fuel rail stop bracket, position the Intake Manifold forward, remove the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor vacuum hose, and the map sensor electrical connector before remov the Intake Manifold and gaskets disposing of old gaskets. As for installation, you will need new Intake Manifold gaskets and install Intake Manifold joining the map sensor vacuum hose and electrical connector. Use threadlock gm U.S. P/N 12345382, canada P/N 1095 3489, or equivalent and install the Intake Manifold bolts to the threads of the Intake Manifold bolts , and install fuel rail stop bracket . Secure the reuse of the bolts on the Intake Manifold in a sequential manner having a level of torque of 5 nm (44 inch lbs.) in the first pass and the final pass of 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). If the car is fitted with the rpo ls6 engine, bring the PCV Valve Hose to the valley cover and Intake Manifold; where provided with the rpo ls1 engine, install the pcv valve pipe to the right rocker arm cover and Intake Manifold with 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) on the pcv pipe strap nut, afterwards, install the pcv valve pipe to the left rocker arm cover. Install the pcv tube to the right rocker arm cover, tp sensor harness clip to the pcv tube, and knock sensor wire harness (between vacuum lines) to the fuel rail stop bracket. Mount the harness clips on the fuel rails, and connect the Intake Manifold branches on the wiring harness. Connect the power Brake Booster Vacuum Hose. Install evap canister purge solenoid valve onto the bracket, connect etc electrical connector, the evap canister purge solenoid valve electrical connector, and all Fuel Injector electrical connector. Finally, install Throttle Body heater outlet hose, coolant air bleed hose, and the evap canister purge tube, connecting to fuel feed pipe, evap canister purse solenoid valve, and the Intake Manifold. Install the fuel feed hose, left and right fuel rail covers, and if replaced the Intake Manifold, then install the Throttle Body and fuel injectors before adding fluids to the cooling system.
