2003 Chevrolet Corvette Throttle Body Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2003 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: In order to replace the Throttle Body assembly, it is necessary to take a look at the 8 digit part identification number stamped on the Throttle Body casting for any servicing or replacement of parts. Treat the electronic throttle control components gently so they are not damaged, including not dropping them or submerging them in cleaning solvents. First, lift the vehicle and partially drain the cooling system to remove the hoses at Throttle Body. Lower the car, then remove the intake Air Temperature Sensor electrical connector keeping in mind to plug or cover any openings to avoid contamination. Disconnect the air intake duct, the air control valve, and tp sensor electrical connectors, and disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the Throttle Body. Take off the Throttle Body mounting bolts and remove the coolant hoses before removing the throttle and gasket and replacing it with a new one after discarding the old gasket and checking on the crankcase ventilation hose and tube for damage. For installation, install a new Throttle Body gasket, hook up the coolant hoses, and install the Throttle Body assembly with attaching bolts tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in) with a torque wrench. Connect the tp sensor and crankcase ventilation hose, ensuring that the air control valve electrical connector and sealing are correctly laced in. Connect the front air cleaner housing elements and reattach the intake Air Temperature Sensor electrical connector. Refill the cooling system and check the full throttle opening and closing positions with the help of the accelerator pedal while checking the throttle angles with a scan tool. Lastly, turn on the engine and examine for leaks of coolant.
