How to replace the 24X Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2003 Chevrolet Malibu?

Begin sensor replacement of the 24x crankshaft position (CKP) sensor when you first turn the ignition off and raise the vehicle on a hoist. Before crankshaft Harmonic Balancer removal note down sensor harness routing positions for reference. Before sensor removal, disconnect the electrical connector followed by the harness retaining clip with bolt then remove the four sensor bolts. Install the 24x Crankshaft Position Sensor through four bolts while maintaining the harness routing exactly as observed during sensor removal. Put the harness retaining clip together with bolt into position and tighten the ckp sensor bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). After connecting the sensor electrical connector install the balancer onto the crankshaft while lowering the vehicle then perform the ckp system variation learn procedure.
