How to replace the side Motor and Transmission Mount on 2003 Chevrolet Malibu?

The first action to replace the side transmission mount is to raise and support the vehicle and then remove left front wheel and tire assembly, and left front splash shield. Set the vehicle on a jackstand and prop up the transaxle with a block of wood to prevent all clanking when working on the rear suspension, remove the thru-bolt from the transmission mount. Loosen up the rear upper mount bolt but do not remove it and remove all the remaining three mount bolts before you reinstall the mount. Transfer the rear upper mount to the new mount, locate in, and begin the rear upper bolt into threads, and install the remaining three bolts. Retighten bolt all four mount bolts to 66 nm (49 ft. Ibs.) and install the mount thru bolt by tightening to 55nm (41 ft. Ibs.). Finally, lift up the vehicle, remove the jackstand and wood block, then install the left splash shield, the left tire and wheel assembly and lower the vehicle.
