2003 Chevrolet Tracker Evaporator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the evaporator core on 2003 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: After releasing and recovering refrigerant users should disable safety interlock retention while disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Pull out the instrument panel carrier before eliminating the bolt to move the plate counterclockwise until Evaporator inlet and outlet tubes detach from the bulkhead. Before handling Evaporator lines open to air you should cap them off to stop contamination while detaching the Evaporator temperature sensor electrical connector from the compressor control module. First disconnect the 6 screws and 2 nuts to pull out the Evaporator case from the vehicle before removing its 5 screws and insulation. Take the two parts of the Evaporator case apart while removing the Evaporator from inside the lower case. Detach the expansion valve through bolt removal of its two connections while simultaneously separating the Evaporator temperature sensor. To install the Evaporator position it in the lower case then secure it by connecting the Evaporator temperature sensor followed by installing the expansion valve through its two mounting bolts. Reassemble the Evaporator case with its halves using the five screws which you should secure to the vehicle body along with two nuts. Establish a torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Install the compressor control module electrical connector for the Evaporator temperature sensor while applying fresh o-rings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to the Evaporator pipe fittings before inserting the bulkhead pipes using a circular plate motion and securing it with a bolt. To complete the job you must install the i/p carrier after enabling the sir then reconnect the negative Battery Cable, evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system, before conducting an a/c system check for refrigerant leaks.
