  A: Service and repair of the Starter motor begins by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and securely raising the vehicle. You must first detach the right transmission cover bolt and Starter bolts then disconnect the oil level sensor electrical connector. Set the Starter aside from the transmission before removing the solenoid nut then dislodging the solenoid lead from its stud and finally the Starter lead nut followed by the positive cable from the Starter stud. Place the Starter on a workbench and detach the transmission cover from it by releasing the snaps. Reattach the positive cable to the Starter stud and fasten transmission cover to Starter before installing the Starter shield. Install the Starter lead nut before installing the Starter solenoid lead on the solenoid stud and Starter solenoid nut. Tighten both pieces to 3.4 n.m (30 lb in). Position and slide the Starter toward the rear position before securing it with bolts at 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Connect the oil level sensor electrical connector before you secure the right transmission cover bolt with a 9 n.m torque specification (80 lb in torque). The last step involves lowering the vehicle while reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
