    A: To replace the engine front cover, on the other hand, the following tools are required first: torque angle meter (J 36660-A). Start by removing the bracket of the right engine mount, the drive belt tensioner assembly, the crankshaft balancer, the crankshaft sensor shield, and the crankshaft sensor. Next, remove the Oil Pan to engine front cover bolts and the engine front cover attaching bolts and remove the engine front cover. Check the Timing Chain's movement and make sure it does not exceed 25mm (1 inch) and check if the timing sprockets have been worn out. Clean the mating surfaces of the gaskets on the cylinder block, and if the Oil Pan Gasket is too swollen, remove the Oil Pan to put a new gasket. Make sure to clean and inspect the engine front cover prior to installation. Replace the engine front cover gasket and install the engine front cover sealing gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent on the bolt threadselige. Make sure to tighten the engine front cover bolts until the torque is 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) and apply 40 degrees additional turn with the torque angle meter (J 36660-A). Then bolt on the Oil Pan to the engine front cover bolts then tighten them to 14 nm (125 inch lbs.). Replace the drive belt tensioner assembly without tweaking the crankshaft sensor and then crankshaft sensor shield, followed by the crankshaft balancer and bolt attached last while right Engine Mount Bracket.
