2004 Buick Park Avenue Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fuel rail assembly on 2004 Buick Park Avenue?
A: The replacement work on Fuel Rail assembly requires two initial steps: releasing fuel pressure from the system and maintaining a clean environment during the entire operation. First clean all parts of the Fuel Rail assembly before disconnecting the fuel feed pipe and return pipe from Fuel Rail tubes in addition to separating the vacuum line from the Fuel Pressure Regulator. First disconnect the ignition coil wires and then exert pressure on their lock tabs before taking out the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors. The Fuel Injector remover tool (J 43013) enables secure lifting of the injectors after removing the Fuel Rail hold-down bolts. The Fuel Rail should be removed by applying equal pressure from both sides. The Fuel Rail assembly requires inclusion of new o-rings for all components besides the placement of gentle motor oil on Fuel Injector o-rings before properly fitting the assembly to the Intake Manifold with hand-operated injector seating. Embed the Fuel Rail hold-down bolts into position while applying torque to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Rejoin the Fuel Injector electrical links together with the fuel hoses followed by the vacuum line to the fuel stress regulator and ignition wires to the coils. Follow the manufacturer instructions to inspect leakages by turning on and off the ignition while completing the fuel fill cap tightening and negative Battery Cable reconnection. During the last installation step fit the fuel injection sight shield.
