How to replace the rear brake calipers on 2004 Buick Rainier?

You must lift the vehicle and disconnect the tire and wheel before replacing the rear brake caliper. After disconnecting the brake hose bolt from the caliper permit the hose opening to prevent fluid loss by plugging it. Remove the copper gaskets first before you take out the brake hose bolt. You can remove the rear brake caliper by taking out its mounting bolts from the bracket assembly. Clean your brake caliper guide pin using denatured alcohol then treat it with filtered air and high temp silicone brake lubricant. Avoid applying the lubricant to the brake pad hardware. Mount the rear brake caliper assembly to its bracket by fastening guide pins at 31 Nm torque. Insert fresh copper gaskets onto the brake hose bolt and take off the cap from the brake hose end before attaching the brake hose bolt to the rear brake caliper at 40 Nm torque setting. Once completed use the hydraulic system to evacuate air then put back the tire assembly and let the car sink down.
