How to replace the front brake calipers on 2005 Buick Rainier?

Start the brake caliper task by lifting the car to access the tire and wheel. To maintain fluid flow safety insert one end of the plug into the caliper brake hose before disconnecting the front brake hose bolt. Remove the old metal/copper gaskets from their positions and put new copper gaskets in their place. Unfasten both front brake caliper guide pin bolts and lift the brake caliper away from its mounting bracket. Wipe the guide pin clean with denatured alcohol before blowing filtered non-lubricated air through it. Use high temperature silicone brake lubricant to treat the brake caliper guide pin while keeping it away from brake pad hardware and then place the front brake caliper on the mounting bracket. Fasten the front brake caliper guide pin bolts carefully to 42 nm torque (31 ft. Lbs.). Replace all old components with brand new copper gaskets when bolting down the front brake caliper. Reattach the front brake hose bolt and install new gaskets before securing it at 40 nm (30ft lbs.). Drain the hydraulic brake system fluid before putting back the wheel and tire unit while lowering the vehicle.
