2004 Cadillac CTS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the washer reservoir (W/O CE4) on 2004 Cadillac CTS?
A: Turn on the hood and push the condenser seal corner up to reach a bolt which locks the washer solvent container neck to the outer tie bar. Take off both parts: the cap of the washer solvent container and the bolt that connects the fill neck to the upper tie bar. The replacement process starts by taking off the lower air deflector and front bumper fascia and the corresponding headlamp. Switch the side light based on car model. Return all liquid from the container then take the washer hose disconnected from its pump before freeing the electrical connector from the container. Detach the Washer Pump and washer level sensor electrical connections before taking out the fasteners that secure the container. Ease the lock nut holding the bracket to the body rail before lifting and removing the container from the indent in the body rail. Lower its filling neck through the radiator support to take out the container. Move the Washer Pump plus its sensor to the new compartment along with both the horizontal bracket and washer container cap. Place the new container's filler neck through the radiator support and fasten the electrical connection then put the container over the stud on the tie bar outer reinforcement panel. Use the stud on the tie bar outer reinforcement panel to position the container correctly. Install nuts one through six to the container and tighten them to 6 n.m (53 lb in). Secure the horizontal bracket nut to the same 6 n.m (53 lb in) torque setting after you tighten the clinch nut to its proper 6 n.m (53 lb in) torque. Plug the washer hose to the Washer Pump and join electric connections to both the Washer Pump and washer solvent level sensor. Return the installed pieces in their correct order including the headlamp assembly front bumper fascia and lower air deflector. Secure the filler neck to upper tie bar with a bolt and tighten it to 6 n.m (53 lb in). Next, replace the condenser seal position and complete the repair work by filling the washer solvent tank, installing the top and hood.
