• Q: How to replace the Denso SC1 (KG9) alternator on 2004 Cadillac DeVille?

  A: To replace the generator denso sc1 (KG9), first disconnect the battery negative cable next to drive the belt and periodically the Radiator. Then, remove the wiring harness connector from the generator and move the protective boot of the generator output bat terminal for accessibility. Remove the generator output bat terminal nut and disconnect the positive lead from generator. Loosen lower generator bolt and remove the generator bolts (1,2) prior to removal of the generator from the vehicle. In the process of installation, place the generator to the A-C Compressor and engine and then install the generator mounting bolts (1, 2) and apply a torque of 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Connect the harness connector to the generator and connect the battery positive lead then installation of generator output bat terminal nut tightening to 12.5n.m (111lb in). Mount the protective boot on the generator output bat terminal, install the Radiator, replace the Drive Belt, and finally join its negative cable.
