The process requires first detaching the fuel sender assembly along with disconnecting the fuel pump electrical connector. After removing the retaining clip covering the fuel gauge sender electrical connector you should disconnect the connector which is found beneath the fuel sender cover. First remove the retaining clip for the fuel gauge sender electrical connector followed by disconnecting it from beneath the fuel sender cover. Lastly you can remove the fuel gauge sender when its locking tangs are squeezed. Begin by placing the new fuel gauge sender with its retaining clip then connect the fuel gauge sender electrical connector while fastening it with the retaining clip. The installation concludes with reconditioning the fuel pump electrical connector followed by reinstalling the fuel sender assembly.
