The procedure to remove passenger and driver SIS are similar: Adjust the seat to the most forward position, move the center pillar trim panel, disconnect the connector position assurance (CPA) from the SIS harness connector, and remove the SIS harness connector from the SIS. Then, unbolt the SIS mounting fasteners and pull out the SIS from the center pillar. Clean the mounting surface and then mount the SIS onto the center pillar and fasten it with the mounting fasteners tightening to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Rejoin the SIS harness connector to the SIS and attach the CPA on to the harness connector. Lastly, reinstall the center pillar trim, restore the seat to its original position and start on the SIR system.
