2004 Cadillac SRX Air Suspension Compressor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Air Suspension Compressor on 2004 Cadillac SRX?
A: First, lift the vehicle to perform the air compressor replacement. The exhaust system will need disconnection from rear exhaust hangers in addition to automatic level control (ALC) compressor bracket mounting bolt removal. Carefully drop the alc compressor assembly before twisting the air tube's clamp at the alc compressor point to disconnect the air tube from the alc compressor. Extract the alc compressor assembly from the vehicle by performing these steps: first remove the alc electrical harness then disconnect the connector and next unfasten the alc compressor bracket side mounting nut before separating the assembly. To separate the alc bracket from the alc compressor remove the top bracket mounting screw and disconnect the electrical harness from the bracket while also detaching the bleed hose from its clip and taking out the alc bracket to alc compressor screws. After positioning the alc bracket onto the alc compressor install alc bracket to alc compressor screws while tightening them to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). Following this sequence connect the bleed hose to the clamp then install the electrical connector to the alc compressor bracket before linking the air tube to the alc compressor. Fix the alc electrical harness to its connector then attach the side mounting nut to the bracket before completing the bolt installation and tightening them to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). The exhaust system goes back into position with rear exhaust hangers before lowering the vehicle completely.
