How to replace the emblem/nameplate on the rear compartment lid on 2004 Cadillac XLR?

You need to tape the mounting surface before adding alignment marks to help put the emblem/nameplate on the rear compartment lid. Heat the emblem/nameplate with J 25070 for 30 seconds at 152 mm distance to warm up the surface. Put a plastic tool blade into the plastic emblem and gently lift it from the surface. Position the emblem/nameplate where the temperature reaches 29-32°C (85-90°F) and keep the hands off the adhesive side. Place the emblem/nameplate onto the mount surface at 27-41°C (80-105°F) temperature range obtainable with J 25070. Set the V8 Northstar emblem 67 mm (2.6 in) from the left edge and 86 mm (3.4 in) below the driver side of the rear compartment lid. Position the XLR emblem 2.4 inches right and 3.4 inches down on the passenger side of the rear compartment lid. Put equal pressure across the emblem/nameplate to fix it evenly and peel off the tape from the surface.
