How to replace an emblem/nameplate on the front fender on 2005 Cadillac XLR?

Protect the front fender surface with tape before you install the emblem by using tape as alignment guides. Pass the J 25070 heat gun over the emblem/nameplate at 152 mm distance for 30 seconds in circular motion. You can take the emblem/nameplate off the panel with a plastic flat tool safely. Prepare the installation area by wiping it with both VMP naphtha and VMP naphtha diluted with isopropyl alcohol. Dry the area after cleaning with a lint-free cloth. When no mark is present apply tape then put the XLR emblem/nameplate at 108 mm (4.25 in) from the fender tail and 305 mm (12 in) from below fender edge. Set the J 25070 heat gun to 80-105°F and warm the surface until it reaches 80-105°F. Maintain the emblem/nameplate at a temperature range of 85-90°F throughout the installation process. Start by removing any liners from behind the emblem/nameplate. Then place it on the marked surface and evenly press it until the adhesive bonds securely. Take off the protective tape from the mounting area.
