How to replace the emblem/nameplate on the rear compartment lid on 2005 Cadillac XLR?

Position tape on the mounting surface of the rear compartment lid before changing the emblem/nameplate and use similar tape to help position the new part during installation. Heat the emblem/nameplate through a 30-second circular motion pattern using J 25070 tool at 152 mm (6 in) distance. Use a plastic tool to remove the emblem/nameplate from the panel surface with careful actions. Position the emblem/nameplate when its temperature falls within the range of 29-32°C (85-90°F) and keep your hands off the adhesive backing. First uncover the emblem/nampplate back surface layer. Apply the J 25070 (J 25070) unit to heat the mounting area to 27-41°C (80-105°F) temperatures when needed. Attach the V8 Northstar emblem on the driver side with 67 mm (2.6 in) left edge placement and 86 mm (3.4 in) bottom edge space from the rear compartment lid. Place the XLR emblem at the passenger side 60 mm (2.4 inches) from the right edge and 86 mm (3.4 inches) down from the rear compartment lid bottom edge. Hold the emblem across its surface even as you press it down onto the designated spot before peeling off the protective tape from the mounting area.
