The km-507-c (Ball Joint Remover) should be used to detach the Steering Knuckle from the lower Ball Joint before releasing the Tie Rod nut and separating the Tie Rod end with the km-507-c. Remove the damping block connection nut followed by the bolt and then take out the rear mounting bracket bolts and bracket. To remove the drive Axle Shaft from the Wheel Hub position a drain pan below the transaxle while using the dt 47539 (Axle Shaft Remover) to extract the drive axle and also putting a cap on the transaxle drive opening. Begin by cleaning both the hub seal and transaxle seal and proceed to install the drive axle into the transaxle followed by fitting the Wheel Hub onto the Axle Shaft. Complete the installation by inserting the damping block connection bolt and nut before torquing them to 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.) while the rear mounting bracket bolts and bracket require 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.). First tighten the Tie Rod nut to 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.) then secure the lower Ball Joint nut to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Install the Tie Rod into the knuckle/strut and fit the lower Ball Joint to its mount. Before final installation of new Axle Shaft components, install the new caulking nut loosely and place the wheels on the vehicle after lowering it to floor height. Then, secure wheel nuts to 120 nm (88 ft. Lbs.) and Axle Shaft caulking nut to 300 nm (221 ft. Lbs.). Finally, use a punch and hammer to peen the Axle Shaft hub caulking nut. To install the engine under covers, you must complete the hub installation with a punch and hammer and lock the Axle Shaft caulking nut in place while refilling the transaxle fluid to its correct level.
