How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier?

First disconnect power from the brake fluid sensor and remove brake lines from the master cylinder while capping the open brake pipes to keep fluid inside the system. Unbolt the master cylinder and shift either the proportioning valve assembly bracket or antilock brake modulator bracket towards the front so the Brake Booster studs clear. Afterward take out the master cylinder from the booster. Held air free from the master cylinder before putting it back onto the vacuum Brake Booster. Install either the proportioning valve or antilock brake modulator bracket parts onto the Brake Booster studs. Secure the master cylindernuts to 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.) torque value. Thread the brake pipe fittings to the master cylinder and fasten them at 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs. Torque). Attach the electrical connector at the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and proceed with hydraulic brake system bleeding.
