2004 Chevrolet Cavalier Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the washer reservoir on 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier?
A: Start by opening the hood to empty washer solvent from the container before changing it. To access the washer solvent container you must first remove the left front fender liner then disconnect the anti-lock brake electronic wires and washer pump electrical connections. First disconnect the washer pump hose then pull out its push-in retainer from the air induction tube before taking off the screws that attach the washer solvent container. Unplug the car and detach the air induction tube from the container by removing its screw. Install the air induction tube into the washer solvent container and fasten it with the screw until it reaches 3 N.m (27 lb in) of torque. Place the washer solvent container into the automobile and fasten the screws through their complete tightening cycle of 10 N.m (89 lb in). Refasten the push-in retainer on the air induction tube while linking back the washer pump hose with its electrical connector and attaching the anti-lock brake electronics to the container. After placing the liner back onto the front fender lower the vehicle then seal and fill the washer solvent container while checking if the system works correctly.
