2005 Chevrolet Cavalier Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the washer reservoir on 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier?
A: When replacing the washer solvent container open the hood to drain its contents first. Take off the cap from both the washer solvent container and left fender liner. Detach the anti-lock brake electrical wiring and the washer pump plug connections before disconnecting the washer pump tube. Disengage the air induction tube retainer and unscrew both screws which secure the washer solvent container. Take the container from the vehicle now. Untwist the air induction tube screw and pull off the air induction tube from the washer solvent container. Insert the air induction tube into the washer solvent container and fasten it with the screw while tightening it to 3 N.m (27 lb in). Reinsert the washer solvent container into its vehicle location then fasten screws by torquing them to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Place the air induction tube push-in retainer while connecting the washer hose and electrical wire then fasten the anti-lock brake electrical harness to the washer solvent container. End the process by installing the front fender liner, placing the vehicle back on the ground and replacing the washer solvent container cap. Then add washer solvent into the container followed by checking if all washer elements work effectively.
