Start the process by taking off the compartment lid applicance. You must disconnect the compartment lid latch cable assembly from behind the lid lock when you spread the black plastic housing and pull it downward. To disable the lock of the Cavalier compartment lid take out its retainer part but for the Sunfire model drill out the holding rivets. You need to remove the compartment lid lock cylinder now. Reposition the compartment lid lock cylinder for installation. For the Cavalier model reassemble the compartment lid lock cylinder retainer in place but for the Sunfire model apply the spacer and secure the lock fasteners. Reconnect both the compartment lid lock cable system and the external compartment layer.
