2004 Chevrolet Colorado Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear seat belt on 2004 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: Start replacement of the rear seat belt by opening the rear seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt trim cover so you can then remove the rear seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt. Start by removing the body rear corner trim panel followed by taking out the rear seat belt anchor bolt then the bolt which connects the seat belt retractor assembly to the body structure. Once the components are removed fetch the rear seat belt assembly from the vehicle. Position the rear seat belt retractor assembly correctly within the vehicle before installing its retention bolt which must be tightened to 52.5 N.m (39 lb ft). Secure the rear seat belt upper guide by screwing in the bolt since the seat belt webbing must be untwisted, finally tightening this bolt to 52.5 N.m (39 lb ft). Finally the process requires installation of the anchor bolt which needs 52.5 N.m (39 lb ft) torque to bring stability while maintaining untwisted webbing position.
