  • Q: How to replace the Brake Fluid Level Sensor in the Master Cylinder on 2004 Chevrolet Malibu?
A: Before installing the new master cylinder fluid level sensor ensure you remove the Brake Master Cylinder mounting nuts from the booster device then position the master cylinder to reach the sensor without breaking brake lines. Start by disconnecting the electrical connector at the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and then use needle nose pliers to flatten the retaining tabs before sensor removal from the master cylinder. Press the new Brake Fluid Level Sensor onto the master cylinder reservoir till the retaining tabs snap into position. The electrical connector should be installed on the sensor and the master cylinder gasket must have the proper placement without any perforations or damage before reattaching the Brake Master Cylinder to the booster assembly.
