How to replace the Knock Sensor (KS) on 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

To replace the Knock Sensor (KS), lift and support the vehicle first. Remove the knock sensor by loosening the two screws at the bottom of the engine and then disconnecting power at the harness connector. When installing the new knock sensor do not apply thread sealant to sensor threads, as they are factory coated and it will cause the ability of the sensor to indentify detonation, to be affected. Mount the knock sensor and secure it using 19 N.m (14 lb ft). Finally, you connect the knock sensor wiring harness electrical connector and lower the car.
