  A: A proper replacement of the throttle position (TP) sensor requires users to disconnect power completely and remove the air intake duct. The procedure starts with disconnecting three components: the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge line together with fuel lines and throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector. The removal process begins with unscrewing two fasteners from the tp sensor before both the sensor and its o-ring can be extracted. Install the o-ring onto the tp sensor before mounting it onto the Throttle Body assembly while applying a thread-locking compound like loctite(R) 262 or gm p/n #1052624 or equivalent product on the 2 tp sensor fasteners and fasten them to 2 n.m torque specification (18 lb in). After reconnecting electrical tp sensor connections and the purge line from the evap system along with fuel lines you may reinstall the air intake duct.
