  A: Service and repair the Throttle Position Sensor requires disabling the intake air temperature electrical connector and breather tube from the air intake tube and subsequent removal of the air intake tube. To remove the tp sensor first remove its electrical connector and detach the two attaching screws for the sensor while also taking out the o-ring. Begin sensor installation by inserting a new o-ring to the ip sensor body. The install of tp sensor should start by positioning the throttle valve in its normal idle position then attach the sensor to the Throttle Body assembly. Use a thread-locking compound such as loctite(R) 262, gm p/n #1052624, or equivalent on the 2 tp sensor attaching screws, tightening them to 2.0 n.m (18 lb in). Reinstall the air inlet tube and sequence the connection of the tp sensor electrical connector as the last step of the installation.
