2005 Chevrolet Venture Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on 2005 Chevrolet Venture?
A: Charging your vehicle with the throttle position (TP) sensor requires the ignition off followed by removal of the air intake duct. First separate the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge line together with fuel lines and the tp sensor electrical connector. The tp sensor fasteners should be removed first followed by removal of the sensor unit including the o-ring. The o-ring installation process requires placing it on the new tp sensor before installing the sensor on the Throttle Body assembly. The tp sensor fasteners need to be secured with loctite(R) 262, gm p/n #1052624 or an equivalent thread-locking compound while torquing the screws to 2 n.m (18 lb in). The procedure requires grounding the tp sensor electrical connector as the next step before reconnecting the evap purge line and fuel lines and reinstalling the air intake duct.
