2004 GMC Envoy Window Regulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the rear door window regulator on 2004 GMC Envoy?
A: The process of replacing a rear door Window Regulator starts with removing the rear door trim panel together with inside Door Handle, speaker, and water deflector. Then, detach the bolts that hold the rear window to the Window Regulator before raising the window. Users of system a31 must unplug the electrical connector from the Window Regulator motor. Loosen the bolts securing the regulator to keyhole slots at its multiple locations allowing removal of the bolts which mount the regulator to the inner panel. Remove the Window Regulator by raising it through the opening of the access hole. Put the rear door Window Regulator through the access hole before setting it against the inner panel with keyhole slots properly aligned with the regulator bolts. Tighten the bolts at the inner panel which anchor the Window Regulator to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Install the electrical connector to the motor of the Window Regulator if a31 is present then carefully position the window support and remove the window from its position on the carrier plate. Secure the window to the regulator by using bolts and tighten these bolts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). The last installation step includes reattaching the rear door water deflector beside adding the speaker followed by the inside handle and trim panel.
