Q: How to replace the front door window regulator on 2003 GMC Envoy?
A: You must start the front door Window Regulator replacement by taking off the door trim panel alongside the speaker and water deflector. The first step involves disconnecting the electrical connector from the regulator motor while you lift and support the window and then loosen the bolts from the regulator window carrier. Proceed by loosening the regulator assembly bolts which connect it to the door and then detach the remaining 3 bolts used to secure the combination of regulator assembly and motor. Raise the regulator assembly upwards to unfasten upper 2 bolts while rotating the elevated part toward the front and finally extract the piece through the door opening onto a prepared surface. Users should take out the upper 2 bolts attached to the regulator assembly. Start by connecting the upper 2 regulator assembly bolts and position it semi-horizontally until the forward section reaches the door cavity then complete the vertical rotation. Lower the regulator assembly to the door sheet metal while using the upper 2 bolts for hanging. The motor retention bolt for the door reaches 9 n.m (80 lb in) torque strength before adding the remaining door bolts for the regulator assembly at 10 n.m (88 lb in). You must connect the electrical parts to the motor before disconnecting the support and having the window slide down the carrier. After allowing the regulator window carrier bolts to become slightly loose proceed with opening the window to its highest position within the run channels before fully tightening bolts to 10 n.m (88 lb in). Installation concludes with inserting the water deflector and speaker while putting on the door trim panel.
