2002 GMC Envoy Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front door window regulator on 2002 GMC Envoy?
A: First uncouple the door Window Regulator by removing the door trim panel with speaker and water deflector and extracting the window itself away from the door. The removal starts with unplugging the electrical connector from the motor then loosening the 2 upper bolts that secure the regulator assembly to the door opening. Lift the regulator assembly upward until the upper 2 bolts release from their connection before rotating the upper portion forward. The regulator assembly should pass through the door opening to a designated surface while the technician removes the two retaining bolts on top of the assembly. First secure the upper two regulator assembly bolts at a partial install position before inserting it through the door opening in a semi-horizontal alignment and completing reposition to the door cavity forward to reach a vertical installation. Hanging the regulator assembly onto door sheet metal requires usage of the upper 2 bolts. After obtaining the door shape properly, tighten the floor motor bolt to 9 n.m (80 lb in) and finish bolting the remaining components of the regulator assembly to the door at 10 n.m (88 lb in). The electrical connector of the regulator motor needs to be connected before installing side door window followed by water deflector then speaker and finishing with door trim panel installation.
