2005 Buick LaCrosse Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the steering knuckle on 2005 Buick LaCrosse?
A: The first step when replacing a Steering Knuckle requires elevating and supporting the vehicle. First remove the bearing/hub assembly before disconnecting both the front lower control arm ball stud and outer Tie Rod End from the Steering Knuckle. Begin by marking the strut's location on the knuckle then remove the attaching bolts and nuts to extract the knuckle from the vehicle. Reinstall the knuckle onto the vehicle while installing through bolts and nuts for struts before tightening to 120 nm (89 ft. Lbs.). Move to connect the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle as well as the front lower control arm ball stud to the knuckle. Install the front wheel drive shaft bearing then lower the vehicle while performing a final check of the front wheel alignment and modifying it as needed.
