2005 Buick Park Avenue Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the cruise control module on 2005 Buick Park Avenue?
A: Before you replace the Cruise Control Module, the fuel injector site shield must be taken off. Next, move the lock release and undo the cruise control cable from the engine bracket and Throttle Body. Remove cruise control cable together with the connector from the module assembly connector and, then, disconnect electric connection to the module assembly. The retaining nuts and the module should be removed from the mounting studs , and the bracket bolts for the Cruise Control Module bracket from the module bracket and the module should also be removed. When installing, first fix the Cruise Control Module on the bracket and bolt the bracket to the module with bracket bolts securing the fasteners in 7.5 n.m (66 lb in). Then, place the Cruise Control Module on the studs at the cowl and tighten the bracket retaining nuts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Connect the electrical connector to the module and also fit cruise control cable to the module assembly connector without twisting the ribbon when connecting the cable. The cruise control cable does not require mechanical adjustment when replaced because the Cruise Control Module itself inside will compensate for the cable. Lastly, connect the cruise control cable housing connector to the engine bracket and Throttle Body.
