You must first disconnect the rear compartment lid and then eliminate the rear shelf trim panel before repairing the rear compartment lid hinge. Pull the torque rods out from their position on the hinge piece and remove hardware that holds the hinge to its spot on the car. Secure the new hinge by aligning it with the vehicle followed by fastening according to the Fastener Notice. Please fasten the hinge using nuts and bolts then tighten them to 24 N.m torque (18 lb-ft). Put the torque rods back onto their slots at the hinge and replace both the rear shelf trim panel and the rear compartment lid. Close the back compartment properly after installation.
